Snatch a quote from a student and put it here!
Named after the man who became the town's first mayor (Clyde Andis), Andisville has grown into a large city that eventually attracted its own university, Andisville Private College, as well as offering a community college to the students who either can't afford the private college, wants to save money, or wants to stay close to home and doesn't want to attend the private college. Established as an American city in the early 1800's, Andisville has long since grown in size and population. The city has one large mall (Lewis Boulevard Mall) and two theatres, one is a Carmike 10 and the other, Belldrive Movie Theater, is new, shiny, and much more popular (especially because of the seats with the armrests that can be pushed up for snuggling and making out between couples). Located only twenty minutes away from Lucian Academy (and sometimes less or more, depending on traffic and the route taken -- the students that have been there longer tend to know the shortcuts and roads to take to bypass traffic), Andisville maintains a close relationship with the school and many of its businesses offer discounts for students who show their IDs at the time of purchase. Andisville Private College is also friendly with Lucian Academy, and often allows its students to attend athletic games free of charge and sends invites and pamphlets to the school when they are holding any kind of event -- from art showings to guest speakers discussing popular topics. Some of the more popular places for students to hang out in Andisville are listed below.

LEWIS BOULEVARD MALL. Although the majority of its stores are geared specifically for college and high school students, Lewis Boulevard Mall also has a few stores that serve to attract the older and younger generations as well. Popular stores include Aeropostale, Foot Locker, The Gap, Hot Topic, KB Toys, Pacific Sunwear, Spencer Gifts, Victoria's Secret, Starbucks, and Wet Seal. Popular restaurants in the Food Court include Arby's, Cinnabon, McDonalds, Pretzel Heaven/TCBY, Sarku Japan, and Sbarro.

CARMIKE 10. Offers the most popular new movies, Carmike has also recently started offering a one dollar discount for any student who shows their ID to try to attract attention back from the newer, and prettier, Belldrive theater. Although the theaters are older, and the screens aren't as big as it's new competitor, the Carmike theater is always kept clean, despite rumors that it isn't kept as nice as the new theater (possibly started by Belldrive). Tickets are sold for five dollars if the movie is before 5:00 and eight dollars after -- and that's before the one dollar off deal for students.

BELLDRIVE MOVIE THEATER. Named because of its location on Belldrive, it has only been open for a year, and features all of the latest technologies and comforts including bigger screens, a better and more distinct surround sound, comfortable, rocking bucket seating, and armrests that can be pushed up to allow for cuddling during a movie. It also features stadium seating for a better view and has several concession stands, an arcade, and a center plaza inside the main room that has several benches and serves as a place for people to congregate before and after watching a flick. It shows twenty movies at a time, and usually has more than one showing of a movie if it's popular enough. The drawback to all of the prettiness of the new theater is that it doesn't offer a special discount for students.

THE ANDISVILLE SKATING RINK. Perhaps more popular with the younger high school students, The Andisville Skating Rink is nonetheless fun. Over the past summer, the owners rejuvenated the rink, renewing its floor and adding in an arcade in the hopes of attracting older customers as well. They also made their later skating session more attractable to older teenagers and college students by broadening their selection of music they play, adding in a "couple's dance" where they dim the lights and turn their eyes on anyone who decides to take the opportunity to make out, and offering a student discount (instead of seven dollars to skate plus the two dollar skate rental fee, they offer a flat fee of seven dollars to get in -- essentially offering skates for free -- or, if the student has his own skates, one dollar off general admission). Because of this transformation of their 7-10 skating session, they have created a nemesis out of several of the local churches who don't support their adoption of music that they consider to be immoral. The owners don't mind, especially since it seems to have worked -- at least a little, but they're going to have to wait to see if all of their efforts pay off in the end.

MARY'S LANES. Said to have the best arcade around, Mary's is popular for more than just it's bowling. Susan, Mary's rumored girlfriend, sells charms for students (or anyone, really), which offer a variety of good luck to romance to fortune. She also dabbles in palm and tarot readings for anyone who's willing to spare the five dollars she charges. Aside from the arcade and mystic room outside of the main bowling room, customers can buy all kinds of food and drinks from the bar (on Saturdays and Sundays past seven they even sell beer -- only one per customer though, and IDs are always checked, although depending on who's working, that might not be as strictly enforced as it's supposed to be; anyone who looks obviously under twenty-one isn't going to get anything, though, at least not without an ID). Although it certainly doesn't need it to attract attention, Mary's offers a discount deal for parties over two -- which may seem a little odd, but works for anyone who likes to go bowling in a group.

MAMA MIA! Probably the most popular pizza place (other than Pizza Hut and other chain restaurants), Mama Mia! sells what many people praise as the best pizza you can find in the area. They offer a variety of different crust types and toppings -- during lunch, they even offer a buffet "do-it-yourself" pizza bar where customers can choose exactly what they want on their pizza. The main chef goes to work every day, although he has several of what he calls "mini-chefs"; he's a friendly guy and usually takes a moment to go out and talk to any new customers, and anyone who's a regular knows him as Max. He's been known to make specials on random days for students, although that day is never announced in advance and is always scrawled on a whiteboard the afternoon he heads in to work.

CHAU CHU'S. Maybe one of the most popular restaurants for students, Chau Chu's is a Chinese stop that offers quick, reliable service -- and they have a reputation as having the most authentic and tasty Chinese food in the city. It is popular among Lucian students for take-out before they have to leave town to be back to their dormitory before curfew. In fact, it's uncommon to look in any suite's trashcan and not see at least one carton with Chau Chu's name stamped across it.

RIO BRAVO. As the name would suggest, Rio Bravo is a Mexican restaurant that is known for its delicious burritos. It is also reputed to be the cleanest Mexican restaurant in the city, which is possibly one of the things that makes it so popular -- either that or its unbeatable deal for students: "Buy One, Get One Half Off!" Rio Bravo works both as a sit-down restaurant or carry-out; it even has a drive-through for anyone especially in a hurry!

THE BURGER REEL. Decorated in fifties style (complete with a working jukebox), The Burger Reel is almost infamous in its appeal to students. It is almost always flooded after school and on the weekends, and has an outdoor patio for customers to eat on when the weather's nice. The Burger Reel also has a small dance area that is occasionally put to use by silly teenagers much to the amusement of the other customers and employees. The Burger Reel also has a five percent discount for students with an ID and offers a monthly challenge for customers with the best fifties-style costume (the day and time is announced at the beginning of the month and posted on the bulletin board, as well as a picture of the previous month's winner -- it's always held on a Saturday), and the winner receives a free meal.

OTHER PLACES. Andisville is also home to chain restaurants and businesses including Best Buy, Walmart, K-mart, Big Lots, Dick's Sporting Goods, Krogers, Walgreens, Goody's and other clothing stores, several steakhouses and more fancy restaurants, and pretty much every fast food restaurant you could think of. There are also several bars and clubs in Andisville, but all require an ID for anyone who doesn't look convincingly over 21.
Lucian Academy is a RPG (role play game) created for the amusement of its players. Nothing found here is to be taken seriously. Website coded by Karen.
