Mount Pleasant, a fifteen minute drive north of Lucian Academy, is a small town that would be all but unremarkable to the rest of the world if not for its drive in movie theater (called Harvest Moon Drive-In). As far as the Lucian Academy students are concerned, however, Mount Pleasant is important because it is populated by many animal spirits and their chosen humans, and there are plenty of students attending Lucian Academy who grew up in Mount Pleasant

Aside from the drive in movie theater, the town has several family-run businesses that sell things such as hand knitted scarves or hand carved chess tables. Some of the wealthier students, mostly those who can afford the higher prices that most family businesses charge for their merchandise, make visits to Mount Pleasant to do their holiday shopping. The small town is always decorated in some way for the upcoming holidays (from St. Patrick’s Day to Christmas), and plenty of the shop owners follow the town’s example by decorating the interior and exterior of their businesses with holiday themed merchandise and decorations.

Really, Mount Pleasant is just a nice place to go if someone is looking to get off campus but doesn’t want to go too far away. It’s a reasonably popular getaway place for the holidays, especially because many of the locals have a lasting relationship with Lucian Academy and will welcome a student or four into their homes for the holidays.
